Christina is a PhD student at the Psychology of Language department of the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics. She originally comes from Thessaloniki, Greece, where she obtained her BA in English Language and Literature. After a few years of working as an EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teacher in Greece, Spain and the UK, she moved to the Netherlands in 2018 in order to do a research master in Linguistics at Utrecht University.
Having fallen in love with the field of psycho- and neurolinguistics, she decided to do her internship and thesis on the neural mechanisms underlying word planning processes at the Donders Center for Cognition, in Nijmegen. For her PhD, she will continue doing research on speech production, focussing on how it unfolds in conversational settings.
Outside her academic interests, she loves spending time with her 10-month old chocolate lab puppy, Mocha, and training her to become a lady with good manners when she grows up.
