Bianca Thomsen

Bianca has been working for the MPIs´ Multimodal Language and Cognition Research Group since January 2020, where she helped preparing data files and annotating them for research purposes. Having deaf parents and bilingual cousins, she has always been interested in learning languages, which is why she did a Minor in Psycholinguistics next to her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the Radboud University in Nijmegen. During her minor she studied child language acquisition and the psycholinguistics of multilingualism, when she became aware of the Multimodal Language and Cognition group and became interested in working for them. Bianca finished her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and is currently enrolled in the Master of Clinical Psychology in Nijmegen, focusing on neuropsychological revalidation as well as child and adolescent treatment interventions.

Except for being interested in language learning, Bianca likes to relax by meditating, doing yoga or taking long walks with her partner and their cameras. While in times without Corona, she loved to travel, mountain hike and dance, she is now more often taking care of the jungle of plants that their home has become as well as trying out minimalism tips and ecological cleaning aid recipes.
